Salam wbt
Last night, PPIM-MMA had organized a campaign called Care Palestine with one motto : Dare To Care. To make it short, it was held to raise up our sensitivity towards issues in Palestine specifically, and about judgemental issues towards Muslims generally.
Almost 70 students had attended this programme held in the study room of Spartivnaya Hostel. At 1st I expected less would come due to women's day eve was at the same time, so people might enjoy going out rather than spending time listening about Palestine. But praise to Allah, they (we) still have the sensitivity about this issue and Alhamdulillah, we received good responds about it from them after the presentation and the talk. This shows that, actually, there are still a lot of us who care but sometime we forgot of our task of being apart of the Muslims. Donation was raised up to __ Rubles (keeps increasing till now because it is on until the date line which is not decided yet). The motto for the donation part is: 1 Euro 1 Head. "Donaters are much better than the receivers"
After the talk, we had our late dinner in pot-luck style, having Nasi Goreng in different tastes and styles as our menu. All rooms came with their own nasi goreng but we shared each other's to feel the ukhuwah of sharing. "Sharing is Caring"
Last but not least, we handed out Nawaitu (a weekly hand-out by PPIM-MMA) doing its part of noticing people the don't-buy-them products of Israel and America.
As a summary, there are 3 ways we Muslims can gather our strength to help our brothers and sisters in Palestine:
1) Help them with money for the children, food, teachers, schools and hospitals.
2) Help them by letting people all over the world know about their condition. Let the world know who is the real terrorist in there.
3)Remember them in our pray (dua) as it's our least we can do.
Just an anology, 500 millions Euro from 1 muslim millionaire won't heart-shake the kuffar but 500 millions Euro from 500 millions muslims will heart-break them all.
We Dare because We Care!
Kita semua bersama kerana kita PEDULI akan mereka di sana!

Salam...
INDEED WE DO!!
& WE DO HAVE TO CARE ABOUT THEM!!
Not just those in Palestine but also in Iraq, Afghan, Lebanon etc etc.. The list is long... What is of more importance is not to stand by the nation by to stand by the people... Bcoz we r muslims and hence we r brothers... So, DO TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER!! ;)
Now... I have a question to ask actually... This, u might know, u might not... But am just a bit curious of how the people in a COMMUNIST country look at this matter... Do they actually care or they can never be bothered??
Am not talking bout Malaysian's in Russia etc... You guys DO CARE.. I can see that from this entry.. My questions are meant to ask about the LOCAL RUSSIANs...
Coz here in London... People of ANY BACKGROUND AT ALL... They do show their concerns with regards to the Palestinians issues... How about the RUSSIANS?? DO THEY??
Just out of interest... Dont have to respond to my Q hehe..
Davai....

to wanie,
lain kali kita buat kerja mengemop sama-sama k. i'll make sure u'll get a longer broom. it wont hurt ur back anymore =p
to my dear ihab (nak balas semula gelaran habibah tu),
truth is, we dont really mix with russian students here but with the local, yes of course. we malaysians are all in english medium and surely the russians are in their russian medium. in fact, even at the dean's office, cafe etc, we dont really talk to them. only SOMETIMES that we can count with fingers, still.
so basically, i cant say about russian students involvement against terrorism is that great. what to say more about Palestinians issues. for ur information, all i can say about russian students are: behaving like super models when coming to class (girls) and budgeting like super machos (men). study? so so la.. some are really studious but some arent.
but the public, i can say that seeing people with hijab is quite new for them. when i was in my 1st year here, it seemed that we were strangers who lost somewhere here in moscow. in the subway, they'll just stare at me like i dont have nose or i have cleft lips. haaa.. thats the analogy. but after 1 year, they became familiar with our existence. but i dont put the blame on them. its all about muslims themselves. muslims here dont really practice islam as their way of life. but definitely not all are like that. for women, they dont wear hijab. thats why when i came here (am the 2nd batch of JPA scholar), they were quite shocked looking people with hijab are around.
about the public's sensitivity about Palestinians issues, i can say that some of them really protest the Israelis. i once went to the Prospekt Mira [Prospect of the world/peace] (a place where the biggest mosque is situated and nearby we can find the most active church in moscow and also there is also a temple for hindhu). at that time, they were having spring festival on the road and 1 of the mottos of the festival was To help the Palestinians (something like Palestinian relief programme). people gathered along to listen to the public speech given in front of the stadium there. but since its in russian language, and i was in 2nd year at that time, i didnt understand all. and recently, when i went to a shopping complex here, they gave away pamphlets regarding big issues in the world including Palestine and Lebanon.
but there is no protest or riot or similar thing like that ever happened here. i believe that actually the public do concern about this issue. a few of my lecturers did asking and mentioning about this issue. but they dont show their concerns in such way because in my oppinion, russians are self-proud. at 1st or superficially they dont show their kindheartedness, but last-minutely, they will give their best to help.
maybe 1 day, with the power of Putin and his cabinet, they will be among those who strongly confront Israel and America. Even now, based on Putin's style, russian dont really like America as well.
does this 'story' answering ur Q, ihab? dont hesitate to ask more if any Q keeps rumbling in ur mind. I wanna share my life in this x-communist country with u all out there.
to ak47,

lets gather our strength in dua. may our brothers n sisters gain strength from it. thanks for spending ur time reading this. (i guess u r ikhwan)
Salam...
Owh THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH Sarah..
Ya reply doesnt only answer my question but even BETTER adding loads of other interesting information about the actual environment in Russia!!
Communist surrounding is of course different from the Democratics...
But even so there's always some pros and cons to come hand in hand...
The experience is indeed of the essence...
And so for you to willingly share ya experience with me is HIGHLY APPRECIATED!!
Aku selalu mengomel pasal keKURENG-SEDARan seteng2 muslim kat negara ni pasal isu2 berbangkit camni...
Coz kalo aku gi march or protests.. Semestinya lagi byk yg non-Muslims dari yg Muslims...
Dont know why... But after reading ya statement... It is indeed a muslim-world prob worldwide...
Well... Yg penting kita ada kesedaran... Ensyallah kita sebar2kan kesedaran yg sama utk masyarakat seanteronya...
Again thanx for the COMMENT pjg lebar saudari!! Amat daku hargai sepenuh jiwa raga dan hati sanubari!! ;)
Alhurriah Li-Falastheen wa li-kul sy3b el-muslimiin!!!
AMIN!!
Salam...
My pleasure to hv this shared together.
Russian Federation, after the Soviet disappeared, it's no longer known as a communist country. it's an ex-communist country.
Reading ur comment waters my mind, saying that actly we do hv young pple who really concern about Palestinian issue. but as u said, the world wide problem of us is that we dont show it up. and some are still 'kureng sedar' abt this issue.
Sometimes, i feel grateful to hv this opportunity to study abroad. we hv more chances to see what the world think about islam by mixing with local pple in our place. we can observe their minded about islam n be able to discuss about islam, christian n other religions more freely. we can speak out our belief and so can they.
Alhurriah li-Falastheen wa li-kul sy3b al-muslimeen...
Amin....
Alhamdulillah, the event was a milestone for PPIM here in spartiv.
Lets make these get-togethers a more regular feature that we could use to exchange knowledge and information, constantly keeping abreast with the issues that face muslims worldwide. Not to mention as a wonderful pretext to meet each other aside from the chance encounters at the rinak or in the corridors. Hopefully this will pave the foundation to strengthen the ukhuwwah among us.
Btw, I LOVED that answer that you gave! Truly the way for Muslims to contribute, short of monetary or physical assistance, is to at the very least try to change our lifestyle. A Muslim's way of life should portray Islam in all it's beauty. And beautiful it is :)
ps: if anyone wishes to learn more on the hijab (and the controversies surrounding the matter), IslamOnline.net has some answers. Hope this helps if the need arises to explain our way of dressing to those curious russians!

Salam Maddie,
the reason why i thought of saying that, because we muslims declared that we are muslims but in the other way out of it, we behave not in that way.
we pretended to care abt islam but as we go through it, we practice the donts that islam doesnt want.
lets change! be proud to be in the way of islam...!
p/s: i browsed the link. it turned out i found a site regarding Palestinian issue as well. complete with video and photos. jazakillahu khairan kathira!
